Arctic Monkeys: New Album Announced!

AM have announced their new album today and I am hyped - it's called Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino (TBHC for short).

I'm hoping it's going to be either back to their roots (wpsiatwim) or super experimental - I'm guessing it may be the latter from the announcement.

Release is the 11th of May and lp + cd pre-orders are available, I'm testing my self-restraint at the moment to not buy the LP before hearing the album and it's difficult.

Those tracks are the ones I'm least excited for - I'm interested to see what they'll sound like, I think most of the tracks on the album are hinting towards something experimental though - also I saw a video of something related to space which may be where they got the idea from but I can't find it now.

I think that American Sports, Four Out of Five, Science Fiction, She Looks Like Fun could all be great by their names - speculating ofc.

I hope its more like Whatever People Say I Am, but given their more recent stuff, I'm going to go with it being experimental. We need some good music playing again!

As much as pre-ordering sounds exciting, I'm gonna take a listen to a few tracks when it drops first. I might not like it as much as I thought so i'd like a taste before i get the whole thing

I was like that, but even their albums that I didn't like so much have become some of my favourites - perhaps my favourite band.

I have 2 of their albums on vinyl, plan on getting the rest so I figured I may as well regardless of if it's great or not because it'll be great.

Plus I prefer listening to full albums on vinyl - so I'll also assess it better.

Haven't finished listening to the whole thing yet, but Four out of Five is my favorite so far. GC Album Club #2 maybe after it's released on Friday?

I've seen a lot of people liking 4/5, if I had to pick some favourites - at the moment: One Point Perspective, American Sports, Four out of Five, Batphone and Ultracheese (not in that order).

I really want to do it for an album club, we'll see!
